A coastline shaped by wind

Maestrale, scirocco, and the granite they have been arguing with for longer than any hotel has stood here.

Granite rock formations under a clear sky.

Southeastern Sardinia is not a soft coast. The granite came first. Wind did the editing. The maestrale arrives from the north-west and clears the air; the scirocco brings a different heat. The beaches change colour because the sand is mineral, not because a filter was applied.

Capo Carbonara’s reserve exists because this water is worth protecting, not because it photographs well. Posidonia meadows hold the shoreline. Anchoring is not a lifestyle choice; it is a rule.

From the lookout rooms you see Isola dei Cavoli as a dark comma on the water. The lighthouse is a working object. The wind is the architect. The hotel is only a place to watch it work.
