LÙMERA

Where Sardinia slows the world.

The house

Between granite hills and the protected waters of Capo Carbonara, Lùmera is a private retreat shaped by salt, stone and southern light.

Fourteen individually designed suites look toward the sea, the garden or the Notteri lagoon. There is no conference wing, no beach club soundtrack. The collection is small so the house can stay quiet.

Sun-struck coastal rock and hillside typical of southeastern Sardinia.
Olive trees in late light, close to the garden rooms.

Slow Mediterranean dining at Terra e Mare follows the boats and the garden. Experiences are walked, sailed or simply waited for — always connected to this stretch of the Villasimius coastline, never imported from a generic island brochure.

Stay

A limited collection.

Fourteen named rooms and residences. Each has a different relationship with the water — sea, garden or lagoon — and none is a copy of the last.
A linen-dressed suite with warm southern light.

Porto Giunco Suite

Linen, salt air and a long look toward the pale water of Porto Giunco.

2 guests · 62 m² · Sea view

A calm hotel bedroom looking toward bright coastal light.

Punta Molentis Suite

Granite underfoot, clear water in the middle distance.

2 guests · 58 m² · Sea view

A low contemporary residence with a quiet pool terrace.

Capo Carbonara Residence

A private house of two rooms for slower arrivals.

4 guests · 118 m² · Sea view

A stone-lined garden room with warm, tactile surfaces.

Notteri Garden Room

A garden room turned toward the lagoon rather than the beach.

2 guests · 44 m² · Lagoon view

Villasimius

The coast, named.

Southeastern Sardinia is not a generic shoreline. Each point on this map is a walk, a swim or a morning under sail from the house.

Capo Carbonara · stylised

Porto Giunco beach and the Notteri lagoon seen from Capo Carbonara.

The near beach

Porto Giunco

A long pale shore held between the Spanish tower and the still water of the lagoon. The walk from the house is measured in minutes, not transfers.

Experience

Curated days on this coast.

A sailboat on open water in early light.

Three hours

Private sailing at sunrise

Leave the small quay before the reserve wakes. Coffee on deck, a slow circuit of Isola dei Cavoli, and water that still belongs to the morning.

A coastal walking path above pale rock and water.

Half day

Guided coastal walks

Juniper, granite and the old tower paths with a local guide who prefers silence to commentary. Distance is modest. The looking is not.

A quiet shoreline with pale sand and clear shallows.

Afternoon

Hidden-cove picnic

A cove without a car park. Bread, tomatoes, the day’s catch if the boats allow, and shade that is arranged rather than found.

Hands shaping a ceramic vessel on a wheel.

Two hours

Sardinian ceramics workshop

Clay, salt-glaze thinking and a maker from the southeast. You leave with a small vessel, not a souvenir aisle.

Clear Mediterranean water over a rocky seabed.

Morning

Marine reserve snorkelling

Guided time in the Capo Carbonara reserve: posidonia, granite shelves, and water that asks you to move slowly. Equipment is prepared; bravado is not required.

A night sky over a dark landscape.

After dinner

Evening tasting under the stars

A short table in the garden after Terra e Mare closes. Island wines, cheese, and a sky that does not need a city to look complete.

TERRA E MARE

A coastal kitchen shaped by the island.

The menu is short on purpose. Daily catch from boats that still work this coast, herbs from the garden, oil and vegetables from growers between Villasimius and Castiadas. We cook Mediterranean food without the performance of a tasting circus.
A candlelit dining room prepared for evening service.

Now on the table

Grilled fish, charcoal, island vegetables

A single main, a few sides. The fire is more important than the garnish.

Wellness

Return to your natural rhythm.

The house does not keep a cathedral spa. Treatments are few, rooms are quiet, and most of the work is done by salt, shade and time.
A calm treatment room prepared with linen and soft light.
Botanical oils and spa tools arranged on a wooden surface.
  1. 01

    Open-air treatments

Massage in a shaded court, with the garden as the only soundtrack.

  2. 02

    Salt and botanical rituals

Scrubs of sea salt and rosemary, oils from island plants, water that is simply warm.

  3. 03

    Private yoga

A mat at first light, looking toward the water. No class timetable, no performance.

  4. 04

    In-suite treatments

If you prefer not to leave the room, the ritual comes to you.

  5. 05

    Quiet morning movement

A short guided stretch before breakfast, then the rest of the day is yours.

A day at Lùmera

The hours, unhurried.

Early light over a pale Mediterranean shore.

06:14

First light

The horizon is a line before it is a colour. Coffee on the terrace. The reserve is still closed to the day’s noise.

Olive trees in morning light.

08:30

Breakfast beneath the olive trees

Bread, fruit, and the garden still cool. Nobody is asked to hurry. The table is in shade on purpose.

Clear water at Punta Molentis on the Villasimius coast.

11:20

Clear water at Punta Molentis

A short drive east. Granite, an isthmus, and water that does not need a filter. You swim, then sit, then swim again.

A quiet linen-dressed interior in late afternoon.

16:40

A slow return

Shutters, a cool floor, linen. The house holds the heat outside. This is the hour the hotel was designed for.

An evening dining room after sunset.

19:52

Dinner after sunset

Terra e Mare. The catch, the garden, a short menu. Conversation lasts longer than the last course.

Dark water under a late sky.

23:10

Only the sea remains

The paths empty. The lagoon is dark. From the terrace the horizon is a single pale thread.

Journal

Notes from the house.

From guests

An intimate new expression of Mediterranean hospitality.

“We came for the water and stayed for the quiet. The rooms feel considered rather than decorated, and breakfast under the olives is the hour we still talk about.”

Elena V.Guest, June stay

“A small hotel that knows exactly where it is. Punta Molentis in the morning, the lagoon at dusk, and a kitchen that does not over-explain itself.”

Marcus H.Guest, September stay

“Nothing about Lùmera feels like a resort brochure. The staff leave you space, the suites have names that mean something, and the sea is treated as a neighbour, not an amenity.”

Chiara B.Guest, May stay
