The quiet side of Villasimius

The town is known for its beaches. The house is interested in what happens when the car parks empty and the lagoon takes the sound away.

A view from the Porto Giunco tower toward the Villasimius coast.

Villasimius is often introduced by its beaches, which is fair. Porto Giunco, Simius and Punta Molentis are not rumours. They are exact places with exact water. The quieter work is inland of the sand: the Notteri lagoon, the juniper, the granite that holds the heat after the sun has left.

Lùmera sits in that second register. The house is close enough to walk to the tower, and far enough that the evening is not a beach club. Guests who arrive expecting a resort find instead a limited collection of rooms and a kitchen that closes when it should.

The quiet side is not a secret. It is a choice: to stay after the day-visitors leave, to eat what the boats actually landed, and to let the reserve set the tempo rather than a timetable of activities.
